Description
A powerful stayer with a great turn of foot, GALLIC CHIEFTAIN possesses an impressive career record. Earning over $1.25 million in prize money, he was a 9-time winner at distances between 2000m and 2600m. ‘The Chief’ was a strong winner of the Group 2 Chairman’s Handicap, an unlucky 2nd in the Group 1 Metropolitan, and the winner of the Listed Warrnambool Cup and Listed Winter Cup.
Bred in France, GALLIC CHIEFTAIN has shown a liking for both firm and wet tracks. Standing at 16.1 hands, the 8yo is blessed with an athletic stride and an excellent temperament. He is by Group 1 French-winning stallion Tamayuz, the sire of 34 stakes performers, including 12 Group winners, and is out of the stakes placed mare Katerini, with two of her three foals producing Group winners.
