Description
A tough and consistent city winner, Passionflower won five of her 39 starts and was in the placings on a further 19 occasions, amassing in excess of $215,000 in stakes. Showing her talent from 1200m to the mile she was in the winner’s circle at Doomben, the Sunshine Coast, Wyong, Gosford and Kembla Grange.
Adaptable in her racing style, Passionflower is a daughter of the late Magic Albert, a wonderful son of Zeditave who maintained an excellent 69% winners-to-runners strike rate during his long and successful stud career - one that saw him sire 24 stakes winners including the Gr.1 gallopers Albert The Fat, Ilovethiscity, Magic Cape and Fighting Warrior.
Doing a great job as a broodmare sire (as did his sire Zeditave before him), Magic Albert has been well represented by 186 winners including the dual Gr.1 winning sprinter Vega Magic and fellow stakes winners Flying Jess, Magic Alibi, Mileva and Grandview Avenue.
Passionflower - who was not served last spring having produced a Love Conquers All filly in October - is the only local foal produced by her dam White Pebble, a three times winning daughter of Commands and the city winner Coablo whose seven winners include the four times Group winner Arabian Gold.
Also related to the VRC Derby hero King's High, Passionflower has a pedigree of depth and is easy to match up.
