Description
Our lovely filly by Master of Design from tough race mare Milly de Vain is now ready for sale. We like to let our horses take their own time to mature, and this girl has had a couple of minor injuries which held her back a bit, but it was probably a good thing anyway as she has had some extra time to mature into a very nice, strong filly.
She was born and raised in the granite hills near Braidwood, NSW in big, grassy, sloping paddocks – galloping up and down dam walls, swimming, playing with her mates. Sent to Aaron Moyes at Berrima for her initial saddle education as a late yearling she then came home for a nice spell. Aaron liked her a lot and said she moved well, and nothing was a drama.
Sent back to Aaron for some further education after a good spell at home, she then went on to Emma and Lucy Longmire at Goulburn for an initial prep. She was working well and taking everything in her stride, but a dose of ringworm saw her back home! All clear now and she is ready to come back into work. The filly’s older sister by Dane Shadow is called Shadie Milly and she is trained at Coffs Harbour by Brett Bellamy. She has had her first 4 starts recently for a close-up 4th and 5th and looks like she might be looking for a bit of distance. This girl is more a sprinting type we think, especially being by Master of Design.
Our farm has been producing almost 100% foals to winners for the last 12 years – it is a great place for young athletes to grow and they are nurtured and well handled from the start. They all develop their own personalities and mature at their own pace. We don’t breed many 2yos (have produced a couple) but many of our race soundly for many seasons and give their owners and trainers a great ride.
