Description
Striking Grey Gelding GUNALUVA is a 5 year old by Group 1 winning sire Reliable Man out of the placed Redoute’s Choice mare Saskia, standing at just over 17 hands.
Reliable Man was originally trained in France and after having his unbeaten record broken along with a string of unlucky finishes in 6 of his starts as a four year old, he was sent to Australia in 2013 and into the care of master trainer Chris Waller.
Reliable Man was able to win the Queen Elizabeth Stakes (beating the likes of Dundeel and Happy Trails) however, sustained a career ending injury which saw him head to stud.
Since retiring to Stud he has produced the likes of VRC Oaks winner Miami Bound, New Zealand Oaks Winner Miss Sentimental and Champion 2yr old Colt (2017) in Germany Erasmus.
Gunaluva has had 18 career starts for 3 wins and 5 minor placings, with his wins recorded over 2300m to 2600m. He last raced on Saturday 7th August at Newcastle over 2900m and 6th. He has pulled up from the run free of any injuries.
With a current benchmark rating of 59, Gunaluva would appreciate a change in scenery from city training.
He is a pleasure to deal with and has no vices to report – easy to handle, shoe, float etc. On occasion he can put in a small buck when heading out for his work but nothing nasty, just a cheeky nature to him.
