Description

Beautifully bred, this mare is the second foal out the city winning Redoute's Choice mare Defender. Defender herself is a daughter of the exceptional race mare Alinghi. Alinghi was a four-time Group 1 winner and was crowned Champion 3yo filly in Australia. The earner of over $3.5 million prize money, Alinghi was an exceptional two-year-old winning three group races including the 1 Blue Diamond Stakes and an even better three-year-old winning three Group 1s. This filly also hails from the family of the late Beneteau who sired 10 stakes winners and two Group 1 winners from only two crops of racing age.

Dundeel Star has placed on two of her six career starts. She finished behind Princess Rhaenys (since 4th in the G1 Vinery Stud Stakes) and Salto Angel (since 2nd in the VRC St Leger) when third at Ballarat in February, which with the benefit of hindsight looks like strong form.

She hasn’t reached the heights we hoped she would this preparation, and she’s now being sold to disperse the ownership.

She’s been spelling since 11th August.
