Description
Cross the Rubicon is a magnificent 4yo mare who has shown above-average ability from day 1 in training.
Initially trained by Annabel Neasham & Ciaron Maher at Warwick Farm,
Cross the Rubicon won her first 2 trials in good style, deafening subsequent Gr1 mares Vangelic at her first trial and Harmony Rose at her second trial.
She ran a decent race on debut on a soft 7, finishing 4th behind Marboosha who is now a Listed and Gr3 winner.
At her second start Cross The Rubicon ran in a Listed race. Glen Boss was offered to ride the winner Macroura (Snitzel) but he felt that the stablemate Cross the Rubicon was going better at the time.
She was then given a spell and she was found to have stomach ulcers which were affecting her condition.
She is currently spelling at Lustre Lodge NSW and being treated for Grade 2 ulcers and she is due to be rescoped on Monday the 13th. The treatments are Ulcersheild once a day and Sucraflate 3 times a day. She has gained 44kg in the last 2 weeks and looks in good condition.

Tall, good bone and feet, very correct in-front, good action, deep girth, plenty of lengths, and a powerful back end.
Cross The Rubicon is from a fast Australian family which includes the recent Gr1 winning 2yo CAPTIVANT as well as leading second-crop sire HEADWATER.
While she hasn’t yet delivered on her early promises from her first trials, I strongly feel that she has some ability that can be harnessed with patience good management, and optimum training.
