Description

Clinched (by Dundeel) is a lightly raced 4yo gelding looking for a change of scenery.

A winner and twice placed from only 12 starts, Clinched has been competitive at BM58-64 level in Victoria and has shown the ability to be capable of winning more races. He has been tried up to 2000m and ran a good solid race two starts back when 1.6 lengths 4th at Wangaratta. His latest run was disappointing when he didn’t seem to put in his best effort when being tried closer to the speed.

His best runs have been when he was ridden a touch more conservatively and given space to finish off. At his best, he has a good finish on him when luck falls his way.

Clinched pulled up sound from his last run and has plenty more racing left in him and would be better suited in a slightly easier grade then metropolitan / provincial Victoria. He's a good size (approximately 16hh) and very attractive gelding. He can be quite keen in his work so needs a strong rider however he is otherwise easy to do anything with around the stables and paddock.

The embargo on record was following his run on 8th March 2021 at Warrnambool where he pulled up with a degree of EIPH. He immediately went for a spell, was treated successfully and reinstated on 1st July 2021, racing soundly since.
