Beaucoup, a winner of three Sydney races, placed in a G3 and two LISTED races, and over $230,000 in prizemoney, this mare could really gallop. Beaucoup was trained by Gerald Ryan and as a 2YO, had 4 starts for a first, second, third & fourth – all in Sydney. As a 3YO, she won two races at Rosehill over the 1200m & 1500m distance. She competed twice in the G2 Emancipation Stakes as a 3YO & 4YO, and Gerald Ryan reported that she was going that good, he believes she would have won both times but for misfortune on the day.
Beaucoup has had 9 foals now, with the 9th being a Better Than Ready yearling. Other siblings are Rio Rosie (Duporth) – 3 wins, Beaudacious (Rothesay) - 3 wins and Honest Friend (Hussonet) – 5 wins and recently Still Feeling It (Sepoy) winning on debut in good time at Rockhampton a few weeks ago in a 3YO Open Handicap. Beaucoup has a lovely nature and is so easy to handle, no crankiness in her. When she foals down, she puts everything into her foal, so we have always fed her extra once foaled. Sometimes she will windsuck, but this has never stopped her eating, nor has it ever taught one of her foals to windsuck. If she’s in a big paddock, she doesn’t windsuck much at all. Her foals all have spunk in them, but they learn quickly. The Sepoy (Still Feeling It) is such a quiet boy now and reports back from the trainer (Graeme Green) is that he’ll go on and win a fair few more races, and he will target some Brisbane races as well for him.
