Description
An attractive roomy mare by Pride Of Dubai, the ATC Sires’ Produce and MRC Blue Diamond Group 1 winning 2yo son of Street Cry.
She is from the Redoute’s Choice mare Footprint, dam of 2 winners, who herself is a half sister to Group 2 winner and Group 1 placed earner of $759,375 in Marching as well as Stakes winner Gait and Stakes placed Status Quo in turn the dam of Stakes placed Cristobal.
This is also the immediate family of Group 1 Stradbroke winner Crawl as well as multiple Group 1 winner and Champion 3yo colt Trapeze Artist.
Sempriente the half brother to One Small Step is in training with Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott and is only a few weeks from returning to racing having pleased the stable.
The Lonhro filly from Footprint sold at Inglis Premier Sale this year for $180,000 and yearlings from Footprint have realised up to $600,000.
There is plenty of pedigree to play with for breeders!!
One Small Step is a strong mare with a great temperament. She is correct with great bone and overstep when she walks. She showed great promise with Lindsey Smith and was a winner in waiting until she sustained an injury to her near fore tendon. This is a moderate grade lesion of the tendon that would have required a minimum of 9-12 months spelling and rehabilitation with no guarantee of race soundness. On discussion with veterinarian the decision was made to retire her and sell as a breeding proposition only!!
One Small step is sound in the paddock and would make a great addition to any breeding operation or stallion owner!!
