SIGNIFICANT UPDATE PENDING UNDER THE FIRST DAM – HALF-SISTER TO THE DAM OF 2021 GIMCRACK STAKES FAVOURITE COOLANGATTA
Queen Himiko is a four-year-old mare by Real Impact, a son of the late breed-shaping stallion Deep Impact. She is out of the Group 2 winner and multiple Group 1-performed mare RIBE, who is a daughter of another breed-shaping stallion in Danehill.
Queen Himiko is a stunning half-sister to Group 1 Blue Diamond winner REAAN and six other winners, including Piping Hot, the dam of recent debut winner SNITZONFIRE and exciting 2YO prospect COOLANGATTA, who looks likely to run favourite in the 2021 Group 3 Gimcrack Stakes on October 2 following a hugely impressive recent trial victory at Randwick.
Queen Himiko unfortunately suffered a career ending injury after she was galloped on during her third and final career start. She suffered a laceration to her right hind, which was repaired together with the superficial digital tendon under general anaesthesia on 21 August 2021. She is currently receiving treatment for that injury at Muskoka Farm and the vet has cleared her to travel to be covered during the current breeding season (see attached report). Queen Himiko also underwent arthroscopic surgery to remove bone fragments from both the left and right mid carpal joints on 22 June 2020, and has since raced on three occasions. Please see the attached vet reports for full disclosure. A breeding certificate for Queen Himiko is also attached.
This is a unique opportunity to purchase a quality mare with magnificent bloodlines, who is a ½ sister to a Group 1 winner and hails from a current family that looks to have significant upgrades on the way.
This horse is sold under the general rules of public auction. The vendor makes no representation to the current or future soundness of this horse and all veterinary records remain the property of the Syndicate managed by Triple Crown Bloodstock Pty Ltd. The horse is available for inspection and vetting at Muskoka Farm Pty Ltd prior to its auction.
