Description
Here is an opportunity to purchase a lightly raced son of champion sire Dubawi -Makfi.
Hailing from the first crop of foals for his sire, Makfi had his first race start in 2009 before he recorded impressive victories in the 2010 Prix Djebel (French G3) and as the rank outsider in the 2000 Guineas in the same year. His final race came in the 2010 Queen Elizabeth Stakes where he managed to finish 5th behind Poet’s Voice.
Retired to stud in 2011 he initially stood in Great Britain before standing at New Zealand’s Westbury Stud from 2011 to 2016 before heading over to Japan in 2017.
Sindagar is a lightly raced maiden 4-year-old bay gelding by Makfi out of Irish mare Sindariya. Sindagar was first seen at barrier trials in January 2020 and had a series of trials before gaining the interest of Hong Kong buyers. The then colt was gelded and exported to Hong Kong but was found to be unsuitable to the training regime and was subsequently returned to Australia.
Sindagar had his first race start on the 1st of August at Kembla and finished 9th of 14 runners before coming out on the 14th of August at Goulburn and running an impressive 2nd of 13 runners. Since this start Sindagar has had another two starts recording a 2nd and most recently 6th of 11th at Goulburn on 11th September.
Standing at 16 hands high and currently weighing 471kg, he has pulled up sound from his last run however as connections race horses at the elite level, Sindagar is unlikely to make Metropolitan grade and as such connections are looking to move him on.
He is a pleasant horse to do anything with – float, shoe, handle on ground etc.
Sindagar is currently spelling at Hannover Lodge in Wilberforce NSW (located near Hawkesbury).
