Description
GLOVED is a beautiful 3yo filly by Champion sire EXCEED AND EXCEL out of the superb G1 Thoroughbred Breeders Stakes and G2 ARC Westbury Classic winner PERFECT FIT. This filly is from a lovely pedigree and will provide plenty of residual value for her new owners.
GLOVED is a cracking type and will only continue to mature into the latter part of her 3yo season. She is lightly raced having had just the three starts to date where she has shown plenty of promise despite being hampered in her runs. Her 2yo ability shone through in her trials and she then debuted (as favourite) in the Listed Cinderella stakes, placing fifth to SERADESS who has since gone on to win the G3 Champagne Stakes at The Valley.
Her last start was the 12th of October, so she retains plenty of fitness and is for sale to dissolve her ownership group. This filly has the potential to win races, work her way up the grades and return some prize money before retiring to stud.
GLOVED is by the resounding Northern and Southern Hemisphere super sire EXCEED AND EXCEL who is a sire of an incredible 70% winners to runners and 189 stakes winners – 107 of which are Australasian born and bred and include G1 winners GUELPH, BIVOUAC, FLAMBERGE, EXCEEDANCE, HELMET, OVERREACH and SEPTEMBER RUN to name a few.
As a broodmare sire he has also set the bar high with 60% winners to runners and 57 stakes winners including the G1 winners ALIZEE, PROMPT RESPONSE, ASTERN, BOUNDING, CROWN PROSECUTOR and ELITE STREET and a further 18 Group winners. Making this filly a hot commodity for owners and breeders alike.
Bred in the purple, GLOVED’s dam PERFECT FIT was a six-time winner from 1000m to 1600m and won or placed in six stakes races including a second in the G1 ARC Railway Stakes and third in the G1 WRC Telegraph Handicap. GLOVED is PERFECT FIT’s first foal with her second foal, a filly by Snitzel, having sold for $725,000 at this year’s 2021 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.
GLOVED was a $300,000 yearling and currently stands at 16.1hh and weighing in at 540kg in full work which is indicative of her quality physical. She has a good temperament, is easy to shoe, float, ride and great to handle around the stables. She is accustomed to both the treadmill and swimming pool and is currently spelling and is ready to go on with. Our vet has determined Gloved has a grade 2 resting scope and sound limbs.
