Description

Bear Rio is a 13yo brown mare out of Rue. St Honore by Bearcat. A very nicely put together mare with a strong body and good legs.

Bear Rio is half-sister to listed race winner Rue The Saint that accumulated over $240,000 in prizemoney in his racing career. Bear Rio herself was a handy race mare with 4 wins and 13 places leaving her with earnings of $75,000. She is a winner over 1100-1200m.

We recently sold her Safeguard yearling at the 2021 Perth Magic Millions Sales for $16000. She throws an extremely nice type with good legs and a nice temperament. She herself is well handled and easy to do anything with. She to date has had 3 foals (2016 – Rogano, 2017 – Rogano and 2019 – Safeguard) with none to race thus far. We currently have the 2-year-old (Safeguard) in his first preparation and he is showing all good signs to be a promising young horse.

She has not been served since her last foal and is ready to breed with. All pre-sale veterinary checks are welcome to be done at buyers’ expense on property in Breera.
