Description
Chitabe is a 3YO NZ-bred filly by Belardo (Lope de Vega) from G2-placed mare The Fire Inside (Sir Percy).
She’s lightly raced with just 6 starts to date, winning a maiden at Gosford – see attached replay.
Chitabe was purchased for $60,000 from the 2020 Magic Millions Yearling Sale.
Following her win at Gosford on July 25, Chitabe was set on a VRC Oaks path but disappointed in her subsequent two starts and her connections have decided to move her on as they prefer to race at Metro level.
Chitabe has plenty of racing left – but would likely suit interstate racing or at country level in NSW, given its competitive nature.
She has a current benchmark rating of 68.
From a winning family, Chitabe has a Danehill-free pedigree.
