Description

NAUGHTS’N’CROSSES is a lovely 3yo chestnut filly who is out of the four-time winning New Zealand-bred mare ELEGANT MACHINE and by the four-time G1 winning stallion, Champion 2yo Colt in Europe and Champion 3yo Miler in Ireland in that of DAWN APPROACH. From his 12 career starts, DAWN APPROACH won 8 races and ran at stakes level an amazing 10 times.

DAWN APPROACH stood in both Northern and Southern hemispheres for Darley and has made his mark in Australia having produced the brilliant G2 ATC Roman Consul Stakes and G3 ATC Kindergarten Stakes winner PAULELE as well as G3 Hawkesbury Guineas winner DAWN PASSAGE amongst other stakes horses.

NAUGHTS’N’CROSSES hails from a well performed family, with her dam ELEGANT MACHINE being a half-sister to the stakes winning ASTRONOMIA who won the Listed Belmont Valor Lady Stakes and placed second in the G2 VRC Wakeful Stakes and fourth in the G1 AJC Flight Stakes and G1 VRC Oaks.

This filly’s granddam ASTRALITA also won the G2 SAJC Breeders’ Stakes and placed in the G2 VRC Edward Manifold Stakes, SAJC Spring Stakes and the SAJC Queen Adelaide Stakes. ASTRALITA went on to produce 11 foals, all raced for 8 winners including the stakes winner ASTRONOMIA. A family filled with winners and stakes horses, NAUGHTS’N’CROSSES will make a lovely addition to any broodmare band.

NAUGHTS’N’CROSSES is lightly raced, having had just the two starts to date and has been spelling since last week after the conclusion of a recent preparation. Her owners have decided to move her on as they don’t believe she is up to stakes grade. She would suit a small country trainer who can give her the time and attention she needs to grow and develop further.

NAUGHTS’N’CROSSES still has every opportunity to break her maiden and move up through the grades in the right hands and provide her new owners a great thrill with a maiden win and beyond, before heading to the breeding barn.
