Description
Miss Sheaf a filly by the late champion sire in Choisir out of a Charge Forward mare Avanzar that showed so much potential during her time in training at Mark Newnham's stables.
She had a soft trial on 7th December at Randwick where she was only put through the trial get accustom being around horses.
On her Second trial 16th December she was asked to produce a little more and she won comfortably , proving too strong for her opposition. That trial she showed a little of the ability that we knew she had.
Miss Sheaf had her first start at Gosford on 29th December 2021 on a soft 7 where she ran well finishing 4th on the worst part of the track against the rails that day.
Unfortunately after the race she has been diagnosed an injured suspensory ligament .
Based on her injury , the horse has a guarded prognosis for returning to racing successfully and consideration can be given to retirement from racing .
The hype behind Miss Sheaf was electric both from the spelling paddock and while in full training.
Her page has some nice black type speedsters with the likes of Inspiration , Wandjina , Lucky Unicorn , My Admiration , Festal and Dracula . If breeding she will be best suited to a sire that has speed .
Miss Sheaf is one of those unfortunate situations for connections that could have had an exceptional time racing her.
