Description
A well-bred son of a young sire in demand
This yearling colt is by Showtime, a G2 winner at 1400m & 1600m in Melbourne and twice G1-placed at weight-for-age to Trapeze Artist and Brave Smash. Showtime is a full brother to G1 winner Sweet Idea and a grandson of dual G1 winner Electronic.
Showtime’s first yearlings offered at public auction averaged over $176k at the Magic Millions Book 1 and his prices from the Inglis Classic Sale included $200,000, $160,000, $110,000, $85,000, $80,000 etc. Showtime is a son of 4-time Champion Sire Snitzel whose 118 SWs include exciting young sires Shamus Award & Russian Revolution.
This colt is out of a Street Cry half-sister to 2021 Scone Cup LR winner Laure Me In (over $665k earnings to date). American-bred grand-dam Laurelling is a full sister to G1 juvenile winner Medaaly and a half-sister to multiple GW Charnwood Forest (now a G1 sire). Chaplet’s 3rd dam Fall Aspen (a Grade 1 winner herself) is a modern “blue hen” mare who has 60 SWs descended from her – 15 of them G1 winners – including Dubai Millennium (Dubai World Cup), Ribchester (4 G1 wins), Elnadim (July Cup), Intello (French Derby) & Mondialiste (Arlington Million).
