Description

AKONI is a 3yo gelding by the same sire as sprinting sensation NATURE STRIP in that of NICCONI. To date, NICCONI is striking at 68% winners to runners and has produced 24 stakes winners including NATURE STRIP, winner of an incredible 8x G1 races and a further 6 stakes races, placing in many more. NICCONI has also produced G1 Winterbottom Stakes winner GRACEFUL GIRL and G2 winners FAATINAH, NICCANOVA, SIRCCONI, NICOSCENE and CHILL PARTY.

AKONI is a lovely style of horse and showed a lot of early promise winning his first jump out at Ballarat; HEAT 12 – Ballarat:

Before then racing superbly at his debut career start, also at Ballarat, placing second by just a nose; clocking 35.44secs for the final 600m.

AKONI is out of the stakes placed BLACKFRIARS mare MISS VINNOIRE. MISS VINNOIRE is a five-time winner from 1200m to 1600m and places second in the Listed WATC Jungle Mist Classic and the Listed Jungle Dawn Classic, also placing third in the G3 WATC Champion Fillies Stakes and third in another two stakes races. MISS VINNOIRE is also a half-sister to the eight-time winning and stakes places mare VINTRACK.

AKONI is lightly raced and being sold by owners to make way for their younger horses, so he still has every opportunity to break his maiden and move up through the grades in the right hands.
