Description
Grunt x Yulong April (Zabeel)
This filly is by our dual G1 winning son of O’REILLY, Grunt, out of the young ZABEEL mare in Yulong April. The filly stands at 15.2 hands high.
This filly is a third foal out of the 2013 bred Zabeel mare in Yulong April. She is a half-sister to the very lightly raced 3YO daughter of Tavistock in TAVISTEEL. Currently in work with Mathew Ellerton at Flemington, breeding suggests that she will get better as she progresses through the Autumn and into the Spring as a 4YO.
Her 2nd Dam, Laurinel Princess, is a dual winner and is a half-sister to PALACE LINE, who was good enough to claim Championship titles in South Africa and Singapore. Additionally, her other half-relation is the 11x winning, G2 Prime Minister’s Cup winner LAURINEL ARGIE.
We bred this filly with intent on the famous O’Reilly x Zabeel cross. This 5x5 cross mating has formed 35 GW, 58 SW and 16 individual G1 winners including fillies and mares - SILENT ACHIEVER, PROBABEEL, PROVOCATIVE, SAVVY COUP etc.
She also carries the double of Zabeel that has produced G1 winners such as VRC Oaks winner PINOT and All Aged Stakes winner PIERATA.
Sons of O’Reilly mated with Zabeel mares have left G1 NZ 2000 Guineas, G2 Hobartville Stakes winner AEGON and of G1 Vinery Stud Stakes placegetter IMPECUNIOUS.
