GRUNT Colt out of an imported 2YO winning SHAMARDAL mare.
This Colt is out of the young Shamardal mare, Zaina Rizeena (GB). Precocious enough to win at 2, Zaina Rizeena is out of the highly successful 2YO Stakes winner, SWEET LILLY (GB). SWEET LILLY was a 2YO winner on 4 occasions who ran on until she was 5 claiming valuable black type victories as a 2, 3 and 4YO.
Carrying a double of STORM CAT on both sides of his family. The double of STORM CAT has produced 273 SW, 98 GW with 25 individual G1 winners including Leading 3YO Filly on 2017 WTR (Sprint). Champion 2YO Filly in France & GB in 2016 LADY AURELIA.
The colt's sire, Grunt, first crop of yearlings were very well received at all major Australian auctions. At the Gold Coast Yearling Sale, Sydney Classic Sale and Melbourne Premier Sale his progeny averaged $185,000, $104,286 and $97,500 respectively. At the recent Sydney Classic Sale, Grunt was the only Australian based first season Sire standing under $15,000 to produce over $100,000 average with 100% clearance.
