Alkalist is a 2yo daughter of Group 1 producing and Leading 2nd Season sire CAPITALIST out of the very good producing mare AKOONAH, making her a half-sister to her stable-mate, 3yo filly ASYMMETRICAL who is Stakes Placed and a 3 x winner from only 5 career starts.
Sadly, a the shareholder has passed away and the estate is offering this share for sale.
Alkalist was a $50,000 2021 Magic Millions National Yearling Sale purchase by First Light Racing prior to her half-sister Asymmetrical hitting the track (also purchased & raced by FLR), so her pedigree has enjoyed a valuable upgrade since and she herself is now well educated and in great hands with trainers Trent Busuttin & Natalie Young at Cranbourne who also train Asymmetrical.
Her sire CAPITALIST is Australia's Leading Second Season Sire by Winners and has sired 11 Stakes performers from his first crop with his oldest only 3 years old, including Group 1 Champagne Stakes Winner & Group 1 Caulfield Guineas 2nd - CAPTIVANT, $2 Million Inglis Millennium winner PROFITEER, Group 2 winner MARINE ONE plus Stakes Placed SHIHONKA & GLENEAGLES.
Alkalist is currently in work at Cranbourne with Busuttin Young and only yesterday had her first, soft trial back of this campaign where she finished a pleasing 3rd - see owner update below;
Owner Update:
"She jumped away well in the FLR silks (Navy Blue, Gold & White) and sat in second throughout the majority of the heat. She traveled quite keen and is very new to it all but will take great benefit from the mornings experience. She still found the line solidly and finished in 3rd place. She will look to have another jumpout at Cranbourne hopefully back on the grass in 2 weeks time."
