Description
This 5yo gelding, twice a winner to date at 1100m (including one in Sydney), is by the outstanding son of Redoute’s Choice in Not A Single Doubt, sire of 79 stakeswinners in his own right including no less than 16 Gr1 winners headed by Farnan, Extreme Choice, Miracles of Life, Kenedna, Shout The Bar, Instant Celebrity & Southern Legend.
• Velorum, is a full brother to Hong Kong Centenary Sprint Cup (Gr1) victor Stronger (6 wins) and the SP Tiger Silk, while his dam is a winning Starcraft daughter of Flemington SW Ain’t Seen Nothin’, herself the dam of 3 individual stakeswinners.
• Icecapade, the 3rd dam of Velorum, has 6 SWs from just 87 runners descended from her, a 6.9% sw-runners strike rate for this family.
• Velorum’s features a Danehill duplication at 3 x 4 in the exact same position as 4 of Not A Single Doubt’s Group winners: Farnan (Golden Slipper), Gunnison (Gr2 Sydney juvenile winner), Moonee Valley Group winner Selenia and Velorum’s full brother Stronger.
• Velorum is currently in spelling after an old splint flared up in training during the spring but is currently sound as per the vet cert attached.. Two starts back he won on the 14th June at Scone over 1100m carrying 62.5kgs and winning by 3.3 lengths.
• He is an easy horse to train and a kind ride.
