Hoybell is offered unreserved as part of an annual stock management plan by the owners who run a limited number of breeding stock.
A $690,000 Inglis Easter Yearling Sale purchase, Hoybell was a three-time winner, including twice in Metro company in Sydney and showed enough to be given her chance in the G1 Vinery Stud Stakes as a 3YO, where she raced below form. Her best form saw her competitive with the likes of Diamond Drille, Almighty Charge, Fine Bubbles, Lilliburlero, Lucky Lago, Queenstown etc., all black-type performers or better.
Her sire, Encosta de Lago, is responsible for the dams of 137 Stakes winners, 18 of whom are G1 winners, including the likes of Fangirl, Alligator Blood, Lombardo, Sword Of State and Impending, as well as the likes of Classique Legend, Libertini, Coastwatch etc.
Hoybell conceived twins in 2021 to Kings Legacy, but unfortunately lost both pregnancies. She has an uneventful breeding history and has been very straightforward.
Her yearling filly by American Pharoah has been retained and is in the Chris Waller Racing system, while her weanling colt by Pariah will also be retained. Her 2YO gelding Ring Ahoy (Sebring) has shown some promise in 2 starts to date and is expected to improve as a 3YO.
