Did to you see that magnificent son of Coolmore’s CHURCHILL in VADENI walk home by five lengths in the Group 1 Prix di Jockey Club at Chantilly – (The French Derby) a few weeks back. He’s now a winner of four from his six starts and highly rated in Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe markets.
What does he have in common with this imposing young gelding WAKE ME UP WINSTON? He’s by the fabulous son of GALILEO in CHURCHILL, a winner of seven straight races and four Group 1’s – and a two-year-old winner at Royal Ascot.
While CHURCHILL has had two-year-old winners in his first Australian crop like the Chris Waller pair ROBUSTO and CONQUEROR, there is little doubt, that like VADENI, they will excel with time and maturity.
And that’s the case with WAKE ME UP WINSTON. He just needs time and the sole owner, with many horses on his books, is prepared to offer him to potential buyers who have the time and patience to let him develop and mature into all the genetic advantages he possesses.
He’s a big young boy 17.1hands, but light and deft on his feet, athletic, with a fantastic temperament making him easy to work with. All the early educational work is done, he has handled a recent Flemington training preparation and now just needs that time.
