Description

Texcel is a stunning individual and beautifully bred. He’s a tough and consistent campaigner that still has plenty of racing ahead of him.

He’s built an impressive race record with 15 starts: 3 wins, 3 seconds and 4 thirds, banking $108,245 in prizemoney along the way.

Importantly Texel is only a Benchmark 68 rated horse, so can be placed to perfection. For example, he would make the perfect horse in Brisbane to race through their Class 5 and Class 6 races.

“Tex” as he’s affectionately known, has just completed a terrific 7 race preparation which included a dominant win over a mile at Sandown defeating then spruik horse Grid.

However, the majority of his ownership group feel that since Tex is at the end of his 4yo season, and as many of his current owners have yearlings and 2yo’s with our team, the time has come to say “goodbye and thanks for the memories Tex” as they focus on their younger racing interests.

Tex has shown this prep that he is a genuine metro horse and could easily be put on a Country Cups pathway either in NSW, VIC, QLD or SA.

DECLARATION: We learnt that the hard way at his most recent start, that Tex has a LOATHING for synthetic racing surfaces. So being the middle of winter, now was the time to put a full stop on his racing career with us.

We have no doubt that Tex still has plenty of wins to come. We are genuinely disappointed to be losing him at this stage of his career, as all the hard work has been done. However, we always respect and accept the vote of the majority.

Texel does present as a tremendous opportunity for his new connections.

He has just been transferred out to our preferred spelling facility at Gooree Park, Mudgee, to be prepared for his new owners.

As is our established business philosophy, TEXCEL is being offered for “UNRESERVED SALE” to dissolve the co-ownership team, so he is on the market from the opening bid, allowing potential new owners to bid and buy with confidence.
