Description
SMART PREFERMENT FILLY FROM TAVISTOCK HALF SISTER TO MULTIPLE SYDNEY WINNER PHILIPSBURG.
This is an attractive yearling filly by Champion 4 time G1 winning son of Zabeel, Preferment. Preferment has made a promising start at stud and has sired Smirk, who recently gained black type to her name in the G1 Queensland Oaks, from his first crop. This season, Preferment will have his biggest crop to date rising as 3YO’s.
The filly is out of Longacre, who is by Tavistock, who is already becoming a noted broodmare sire with the likes of Mr Brightside, Dragon Queen and Annavisto - all being out of Tavistock mares. Longacre is a half sister to 6 time and recent Sydney winner and place getter, Philipsburg. She is from the immediate family of Guineas winner and sire Saxon (Danehill). Her third dam, Jeanetta Cochrane, is by Sadlers Wells.
This filly is bred on the proven Group One producing cross of Zabeel x Tavistock. Of this mating cross, it has produced 6 individual Derby or Oaks winners within Australian and Hong Kong, these winners include WETHER (2016 Hong Kong Derby), TARZINO (Champion 3YO, 2022 G1 Sire), JOHNNY GET ANGRY (2020 G1 Victorian Derby), TAVAGO (2016 G1 Australian Derby), PINARELLO (2022 G1 Queensland Derby), TOFFEE TONGUE (2020 Australasian Oaks). Not only has this mating produced 6 G1 winners, but it has also produced 18 SW and 16 Group Winners included GUNSTOCK, TRALEE ROSE, STOCKMAN, FLYING MASCOT etc.
This filly is a well grown, developed filly who is well handled and ready to be broken in. She has a good temperament and is a good doer. She should make a lovely three-year-old type.
To note, a son of Preferment broke records this sale season when purchased by Clinton McDonald for $270,000 from the Melbourne Showcase Session, the highest price ever paid for a yearling at this sale.
