Description
This Colt weanling is out of the sprint winning Redoute’s Choice mare in Apprise.
A successful and consistent producer, she is the dam of 3 named foals – All winners, at different distances. Her 2YO winning daughter of Sebring in Shaik earnt over $220,000 in prizemoney and is now in foal to the Everest winner YES YES YES.
Apprise is out of the G2 winning and multiple G1 placed VORMISTA and is a FULL-SISTER to the G1 Blue Diamond Stakes 2nd placegetter REEMAH, who placed behind Pride Of Dubai and beat subsequent G1 Golden slipper placegetter Lake Geneva.
This colt was bred on the proven G1 cross of O’Reilly x Redoute’s Choice. This direct cross has produced 13 SW, 10 GW and 4 individual G1 winners such as SACRED FALLS (4x G1 winner and successful Sire), SHOUT THE BAR (Dual G1 winner), STRATUM STAR (Dual G1 winner) and EL PATRONESS (2022 G1 Australian Oaks winner).
Grunt Colts were very well sought after at the 2022 January Yearling sale series, selling for $300,000, $220,000, $180,000, $150,000 etc. Grunt Colts averaged $115,000 at the 2022 Inglis Sydney Classic Sale with buyers including McEvoy Racing, John O’Shea Racing, Greg Eurell / All Winners, S Farley, Busuttin Racing, and Prima Park / Bevin Smith Bloodstock.
“I’ve been really impressed with Grunt’s first crop of yearlings, he was a great racehorse and is putting substance into his progeny,” said Ciaron Maher, who bought the Grunt x Cinematic filly at the 2022 Yearling Sale in January for $300,000.
“Grunt really appeals to us, as a Victorian stallion, an outstanding 3-year-old who trained on and provides really good value for us as Victorian and Sydney trainers looking for that more middle-distance style of horse that people are looking to get involved in,” David Eustace.
