Race Performance
Flirtini was a top-class race mare who amassed over $600k on the racetrack through a glittering career. A x3 time stakes winner, including two at Group level, she possessed an electrifying turn of foot and was consistently able to reel off last 600m sectionals in mid 33 second efforts. She was multiple stakes placed as a 3 year-old including:
- 3rd WA Guineas Gr 2 - Western Australia’s premier race running 3rd to super star fillies Arcadia Queen and Lady Cosmology
- 2nd Burgess Queen Stakes LR to Lady Cosmology and defeating Arcadia Queen
- 3rd Belgravia Stakes LR beaten 0.5L
At 4, Flirtini really hit a purple patch of form winning the 2 major lead up races to the Winterbottom Stakes, these being:
- 1st WATC Prince of Wales Stakes Gr 3 (last 600m in 33.59 secs on a Soft 5)
- 1st WATC Colonel Reeves Stakes Gr 3 (last 600m in 33.68)
In the Group 1 Winterbottom Stakes, Flirtini ran a gallant 5th being beaten by Group 1 winners Hey Doc and Trekking and defeating top class sprinters like Malaguerra, Home of the Brave, Viridine, Dubious, Valour Road etc. Drawing wide forced her to go back and in a leader dominated race, she smashed the clock running the fastest last 600m registered on the day in 33.47 and was beaten 0.7L out of second.
As a 5yo, Flirtini trained on with performances including:
- 1st WATC Miss Andretti Stakes LR
- 2nd WATC Scenic Blast LR
In the Winterbottom of her 5yo career, she again ran 5th beaten just 2.5L by Group 1 sprinters Elite Street, Celebrity Queen and Trekking. In the Winterbottom of her 6yo career, she endured nothing but bad luck in the straight costing her a Group 1 placing.
Flirtini retired sound winning 6 of her 33 starts and placing a further 10 times.

I sincerely believe that the Winterbottom of 2019 was the one that got away where, after winning the 2 major lead up races, she drew wide forcing her back on a leader dominated track but she was able to run home in a day fastest 33.47 for her last 600m. She is a very strong and neat running mare standing 15.2hh, has a terrific depth of girth, massive hindquarter and possesses a terrific action, it is easy to see why she was such a talented race mare. She has a fantastic attitude and will be a welcome addition to any broodmare band.
