Description
Nicconita is a big strong mare (16.2hh) who will make a great broodmare. Great temperament, no vices, she is a pleasure to do anything with. By Nicconi out of a Southern Halo mare she represents a great outcross. Both her second and third dams won as 2yos, training on as 3yos, being champion 2yo and 3yo fillies of their years in Chile. Ran a place at Canterbury over 1200m in her first race start. Second preparation won her first two including showcase maiden first-up on Wagga Gold Cup Day. Then ran four consecutive seconds in highway races, including one to Highway Sixtysix. She won from 1200-1600m but her racing style with a strong finish meant she won four but ran second on eight occasions and third on five. Looking for better tracks she moved to Brisbane and ran creditably in Lightning Stakes over an unsuitable 1000m, beaten 2.25 lengths, and by 5.45 lengths in the G2 Dane Ripper 1300m in a hot field won by Brooklyn Hustle. Retiring sound it is time for her as a rising 7yo mare to enter a new phase of her life.
