Queen of Eight is an outstanding mare that currently in foal to Capitalist, the Golden Slipper-winning Champion 2YO who in 2022 is standing for a fee of $99,000.
One of the hottest young sires in the world, Capitalist was the leading first crop sire by winners and stakes-winners in 20/21 season and was just crowned Australia's Leading Second Season Sire by Winners for 21/22 season. Capitalist yearlings have been extremely popular in the sales rings in 2022, selling up for $750,000 and averaging over $300,000 at the Inglis Easter Yearling sale.
Queen of Eight has an outstanding record as a broodmare, having already produced two stakes placed gallopers and a multiple Melbourne city winner from her first four foals.
Cardigan Queen is an exciting 4YO mare in the Ciaron Maher & David Eustace stable that ran 2nd beaten less than a length by Barb Raider in the G3 Vanity Stakes. She then won the G2 Kewney Stakes and G2 The Roses before finishing 2nd in both the G1 Australasian and QLD Oaks.
Athletica, a $370,000 Inglis Easter Yearling is a highly promising 3YO colt by Exceed and Excel currently in training with Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott. A high-class juvenile, he won impressively on debut before running a close 3rd beaten just over a length in the $500,000 Restricted Listed Inglis Nursery.
Queen of Eights 2YO colt by Impending is currently in training with Gary Portelli and her yearling filly by Rubick was recently sold for $70,000 as a weanling.
There is plenty of upside to the family with Queen of Eights having three siblings still yet to race. A 3YO filly called Marquis Delaguiche is by Capitalist and is currently in training by Leon & Troy Corstens. A 2YO colt by So You Think who made $150,000 at the yearling sales this year is in training with Matthew Ellerton. She also has a yearling filly by Exceedance and her dam Bourgogne was served by Exceedance in 2021.
This is family is very popular family in the sales ring with horses selling for $700,000 $410,000, $400,000, $375,000 $320,000 etc.
Queen of Eight is by Haradasun who as a young broodmare sire is doing an excellent job. Running at nearly 60% runners to winners from only 63 starters, he has already produced six stakes’ performers including the G1 winner Zoutori and G2 winner Kiku.
