Description
Homebird's first foal is 3 year old BOUND FOR HOME, impressive winner of the August 2022 running of the Quezette Stakes, breaking the race record for this Group 3 Caulfield contest by more than half a second, and running 1.5 lengths faster than the winner of the 2022 Vain Stakes, Giga Kick, in the preceding race on the same day.
In training with Archie Alexander, BOUND FOR HOME's high cruising speed, ability to accelerate and her extraordinary time recorded in the Quezette Stakes after missing the start, make her a genuine Group 1 prospect this season.
Homebird's second live foal, a Toronado colt, sold as a weanling in May 2022 for $160,000.
Currently in foal to Impending, lsd 22.10.21, featuring the same 5x5 pedigree cross of JESMOND LASS (full siblings Canny Lad and Canny Lass on either side of the pedigree) as is found in Bound for Home's pedigree. The future foal also features a 5x5 pedigree cross of MY TRICIA, the dam of Grosvenor and third dam of Lonhro.
Homebird is booked to return to RUBICK in 2022, the sire of Bound for Home, with Swettenham Stud willing to honour the booking should the new owners wish to take over the nomination.
The mare herself won 3 races, is by Rothesay and out of a full sister to the dam of multiple Group 1 winning Hong Kong Champion, SILENT WITNESS, and Salinger Stakes Group 2 winner, SISTER MADLY.
Homebird's half-sister has produced multiple Listed race winner RELIGIFY.
