Pretty Shamrock is a 5 start 3YO filly by Champion Sire Written Tycoon and out of the 7x winning O’Reilly mare Empress O’Reilly.

With 5 race day starts on record, Pretty Shamrock is yet to break her maiden status. During her most recent race at Newcastle on 17th Sep 2022, Pretty Shamrock finished 4th, behind the winner Midnight Oasis however it does show there was plenty of merit to her run.

Pretty Shamrock has been hindered by countless Heavy and/or Soft tracks, which she does not seem to run to her full ability on, with the strong belief that she will improve in a new scene and a better track.

Written Tycoon's female progeny have been very successful on the racetrack, not only can he leave a leading 2YO filly, but his progeny also mature well into their 3 and 4YO campaigns. Pretty Shamrock’s Broodmare Sire, O’Reilly, has been a leading Australasian Broodmare sire for many years. There has been an astounding 7 individual G1 winning 3YO fillies out of O’Reilly mares including most recently El Patroness, Shout The Bar, Amarelinha, and The Perfect Pink. Group One winning 4YO fillies out of O’Reilly mares include Costume, Daffodil and Shout The Bar plus an additional 19 individual Stakes winners.

The reason for selling Pretty Shamrock is that Yulong Stud still own Pretty Shamrock’s dam and will continue to support and build the family page.
