Description
From the first Australian crop of Harry Angel (IRE), this 2YO gelding is the first foal of a Stakes related Exceed and Excel mare. The Well Found – Harry Angel (IRE) mating is a G1 Goldmine 20/20 match.
“Harry” (as he is nicknamed) stands 15.1 hands, is a correct and very strong athletic horse who shows a lot of agility around the paddock. An inquisitive horse, “Harry” is good to handle, treat and trim. He is used to stables though has not been through a full yearling prep.
He sports a thin long scar on the front of his near hind cannon where he stripped it in a fence as a yearling. Hence, he was not entered in a yearling sale. Sire: Harry Angel (IRE) was crowned world champion sprinter and given a Timeform rating of 132. To date he has sired 26 2YO winners as well as a Listed stakes winner and Gr.2 & Gr.3 placed youngsters in the Northern Hemisphere.
In Australia his first 2YO runner, Arkansaw Kid, was the winner of the Inglis 2YO (R) Listed Banner run over 1000m at Moonee Valley in October. Harry Angel served another full book of mares this Southern Hemisphere season.
“Harry” is bred on the same cross as Arkansaw Kid – Harry Angel over an Exceed and Excel mare. Dam: Well Found is by the incomparable Exceed and Excel – the world’s best sire of juveniles, 526 individual 2YO winners and currently leading Australian broodmare sire.
She is out of the Stakes placed mare Diva Dee – 2d MVRC Inglis Banner 2YO S., RL, ATC Tab.com.au 2YO P., 3d VRC Thoroughbred Breeders S., Gr.3, 4th ATC Reisling S., Gr.2, VRC Maribynong P., Gr.3.
Diva Dee’s granddam, Trewornan (GB), produced the twice Gr.1 winning sire Road to Rock ($1,233,350 in earnings). He is the sire of Beauty Generation (NZ) who won the Gr.1 Hong Kong Mile in 2017 & 2018 and the Gr.1 HK Champions Mile in 2018 & 2019, amongst eight Gr.1 wins. Beauty Generation (NZ) was crowned HK Champion Miler in 2018 and
Horse of the Year in 2018 & 2019.
