Description
Young Speedily bred mare in foal to Astern
This young mare by Capitalist hails from a family littered with black type performers. She is closely related to the three-time Group One winner, County Tyrone and from the same family as the dual Group One winning speedster, Samaready (sold for $1,800,000 at the 2020 Chairmans Sale) – herself the dam of Magic Millions 2yo Classic winner, Exhilarates. It’s a family with plenty of precocity. Exhilarates this year produced a colt by Anamoe’s sire, Street Boss, and will continue to improve this already deep black type pedigree.
Menorca is being sold in foal to the hot, young sire Astern. She conceived on her first cover and will produce a nice, early foal for the successful purchaser next year.
Astern is at the top of his game currently, producing two group winners in Australia from just 24 starters this season. Golden Mile was a superb winner of the Group One MRC Caulfield Guineas and Aft Cabin looks sure to add to his Group Three Guineas prelude victory in the not-too-distant future. They are joined by the filly, Seradess who was successful at Group Two level last season.
Astern is certainly a sire on the up, and mares in foal to him are likely to be in high demand whilst he continues this upward trend.
