Description
A young daughter of a high class stallion with a foal at foot by an up-and-coming son of Redoute's Choice... this is a lovely package!
The 7Y0 Aravina (16.1hh)has plenty going for her and would be a welcome addition to any broodmare band. A $150,000 Magic Millions graduate, she was placed behind the subsequent multiple stakes winner Bandersnatch at her Newcastle debut; injured at just her second outing.
At her first year at stud sent to the ever reliable Magnus, producing a colt, Aravina last September foaled a filly by Arrowfield Stud's dual Gr.3 winning well related stallion Pariah... sire in his first crop of the Gr.2 Spirit Of Boom Classic winner Swiss Exile.
What lovely breeding this filly has, Redoute's Choice and Pierro combining so very well in the pedigrees of ten stakes winners (from 60 winners) including the Gr.1 gallopers Levendi, Arcadia Queen and Regal Power. This filly is a lovely moving straight correct type.
Pariah's only runner out of a Pierro mare is a winner whilst his only runner out of a mare by Pierro's superstar sire Lonhro is a stakes placed winner. And what a great start Pierro is making to his career as a broodmare sire - it is still early days but amongst his first six winners is the outstanding galloper Jacquinot.
A five times Gr.1 winner is well and truly proving his worth at stud with his 33 stakes winners (seven at the elite level), Pierro also has three stakes placegetters and two metropolitan winners as a broodmare sire - looking set to continuing the good work of Lonhro - dam sire of 60 stakes winners.
Aravina is out of the Gr.2 Magic Night Stakes winning Danehill Dancer mare Indian Ocean whose stakes placed city winning grandam Fabled also foaled the Gr.3 Craven Plate winner Lorne Dancer. This is a family that has been producing quality performers for generations, its other members including the big race winners Exceller, Capote, Bob And John, Heavenly Body and Hidden Talent.
