Description
A daughter of JUSTIFY from a winning WAR FRONT mare, this filly boasts a very strong, commercial pedigree.
Fire Opal’s first foal is a three-year-old FRANKEL gelding in training with Paul Perry at Newcastle. Fire Opal has a two-year-old JUSTIFY colt named JUST ON FIRE that is with Dynamic Syndications and she is in-foal to KING’S LEGACY so there is plenty of scope for pedigree updates to come.
Fire Opal is a full-sister to the Group One performers SWEET ORANGE and INTELLIGENCE CROSS and it is worth noting that her three-year-old full-sister BURMESE RUBY is in work with leading French trainer Andre Fabre and was a winner at Saint Cloud last season at two so she may well bring further black-type to what is already a very strong pedigree.
JUSTIFY is off to an outstanding start at stud. He is the sire of 7.9% Stakes winners to runners, highlighted by the unbeaten Group Two Curragh Airlie Stud Stakes (6f, Turf) winner STATUETTE and the unbeaten $1.3m earner LEARNING TO FLY; favourite for next month’s Golden Slipper. Like this filly, Learning To Fly was bred and raised at Coolmore.
In 2023, Justify’s yearlings have sold to $1,400,000 and averaged over $236,000.
