Description

Offered in-foal to SAXON WARRIOR and with a CALYX colt at foot, the well-related RIGHT AS RAIN is a half-sister to $1,555,300 earner RAIN AFFAIR, and to RANGES: a two-time Stakes winner last preparation for the Peter and Paul Snowden stable.

An attractive colt with a good action, Right As Rain’s CALYX foal is bred on a similar Danehill cross to Kingman’s three-time Group One winner PERSIAN KING, and the multiple Group winners TEMPUS and CHACHNAK, etc. The first crop yearlings of Calyx sold to $230,000 at this year’s Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.

Already the sire of a Group One-winning two-year-old from his first crop, Saxon Warrior yearlings again sold very well in 2023. He recorded a median of $90,000 at both this year’s Inglis Classic Yearling Sale and this year’s Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, while his one yearling offered at the recent Magic Millions Tasmanian Yearling Sale realised $85,000, selling to McEvoy Mitchell/Belmont Bloodstock.

SNITZEL has already produced a Golden Slipper winner as a broodmare sire, and this season to-date his daughters have produced six individual Stakes winners and a further 14 Stakes performers, including DIVINE INANNA and BERARDINO who are both by a son of DEEP IMPACT and thus bred on the same Deep Impact/Snitzel cross as the pregnancy Right As Rain is carrying.
