Description

Selling unreserved as part of a reduction sale is the three-time winning daughter of DUNDEEL, Land Ahoy, offered in-foal to WILD RULER. A son of emerging sire of sires SNITZEL and a winner of the Group One Moir, Wild Ruler was well received in his first season at stud last year, serving 174 mares.

Land Ahoy foaled an attractive MERCHANT NAVY filly last spring and has been a very straightforward mare to get in-foal in her first two seasons at stud.

There is plenty of scope for pedigree updates within Land Ahoy’s immediate family; her dam Aiden Sea has a CAPITALIST three-year-old and a RUBICK two-year-old to run for her. In 2022 her close relations FORT WASHINGTON (19c War Front) and WOOTTON CITY (20f Wootton Bassett) have both won Stakes races and the two-year-old VERITABLE (20c Ribchester) is Stakes placed.

There have been just three runners to-date out of mares that are bred on the same HIGH CHAPARRAL / DANEHILL DANCER cross as Land Ahoy and two are city winners, and include FOXICON, a 3.25 length winner at Moonee Valley on her most recent start. Trained by Peter Moody, Foxicon is by FOXWEDGE and thus is bred on the same FASTNET ROCK / HIGH CHAPARRAL / DANEHILL DANCER cross as Land Ahoy’s Merchant Navy filly.

Wild Ruler is a very exciting mating for this mare as his sire SNITZEL has already proven to nick very well with the blood of Dundeel’s sire HIGH CHAPARRAL; there are 8 runners bred on a Snitzel / High Chaparral cross and 5 are winners; highlighted by last year’s Golden Slipper runner-up BEST OF BORDEAUX, and WILLIAMSBURG, who was also Group One placed last season at two.
