Written By filly, bred on the right cross!
A very typical looking Written By filly, she looks fast and precocious! She is short coupled and strong, very much in the sprinting mould and that is echoed in her pedigree. Her dam, Our Dawn is a young, commercial Snitzel mare, and was a $250,000 Easter yearling. She was city placed as a 2yo and showed good ability in a short racing career. This filly boasts a solid pedigree, littered with black type performers. A Close relation to the super consistent Charlie Boy, who was a multiple group winner with earnings over $900,000. Her third dam is the Gr.1 winner Pontal Lass, who developed into a fantastic producer and has really cemented this family. She produced Quays, a Gr.2 winner and Gr.1 placed who in turn has gone onto produce three further stakes performers, it really is a big family! These fillies are now working for the family being bred to some of the best young stallions around including the exciting Trapeze Artist and the sensational Pierro amongst others, making this filly an attractive option with a guaranteed career after racing.
She is also bred on the ‘right cross’! The Written By x Snitzel cross has only been represented by two runners thus far….. The Gr.3 BJ McLachlan Stakes winner, THE NOVELIST and the Blue Diamond Preview placed SCORSESE! The cross already appears to be an electric one!

Three of his first seven runners were stakes performers. He is the sire of the mightily impressive Group winning THE NOVELIST as well as stakes performers GANGITANO and SCORSES from just a handful of runners. His progeny have been a hit in the sale ring ever since his first yearlings were sold last year, that has continued this year with yearlings selling up to $410,000 at the recent Inglis Melbourne Premier sale. So far this year his yearlings are averaging over five times service fee! A Hot sire indeed.
