This mare has a huge pedigree, and represents an ultra-commercial opportunity for the successful purchaser. Coromandel is out of the exceptional mare JOHAN’S TOY. A dual stakes winner and two times Gr.1 placed, she won over $800,000 in career earnings and has produced six winners from nine runners. This makes Coromandel a full sister to the outstanding TOYDINI, a multiple group winner as well as Gr.1 placed and the winner of close to $700,000. She also hails from the family of EXTRA ZERO, the admiral Gr.2 winner and multiple Gr.1 placed. It’s a magnificent pedigree proven to produce black type winners.
Coromandel has produced three foals to date, including the talented FLYING TRAPEZE who has been set some tough tasks in his short career to date. A winner at the opening trials day at Randwick, defeating Empire Of Japan (Breeders Plate winner on debut) he has since won two further trials and has run admirably in both the Breeders Plate and Golden Gift. He is an extremely promising 2yo and a win looks a certainty very soon. She also has a yearling filly by Trapeze Artist, who sold at this years Gold Coast sale for $120,000 and is to be trained by gun trainer Annabel Neasham.
Being sold back in foal to TRAPEZE ARTIST, she is carrying a full sibling to Flying Trapeze and the Annabel Neasham trained filly. An elite racehorse who is having a magnificent start to his stud career. A Black Opal winner and Sires Produce placed at 2, TRAPEZE ARTIST went onto win four Group Ones including the Sire making Golden Rose, TJ Smith, All Aged & Canterbury Stakes, breaking two track records in the process!
TRAPEZE ARTIST has been an instant success at stud and an incredibly popular addition to the Widden roster, covering 618 mares in his first four seasons. He’s also proved popular in the sales ring, incredibly his first crop sold for up to $850,000 and has continued to be in high demand. But it’s on the racetrack where his progeny are really excelling. Currently leading the charge in the First Season Sires table for winners, TRAPEZE ARTIST has sired five individual 2yo winners from just 17 starters, including the city winning and Pago Pago 4th, INTRODUCING and the recent most impressive first starter, TUMBLING.
