Description
NORTHERN BLISS is a three-time winning mare by THE FACTOR (by War Front) out of MELODRAMAS (by Commands), and earner of more than $60,000.
Once she matured, this attractive mare found her preferred distance (1600-2000m) late in her three-year-old and into her four-year-old season, winning three races and placing five times in an 11 run sequence of starts.
Northern Bliss is now offered as a broodmare prospect.
Her dam Melodramas is a half-sister to multiple Group 1 winner ARENA (G1 VRC Derby, G1 STC Canterbury Guineas,, 2nd AJC Derby). She has produced four foals to race - all are winners.
Northern Bliss is a grand-daughter of Group 1 winner LEE'S BID (G1 SA Oaks, 2nd G1 AJC Oaks, 2nd G1 Queensland Oaks).
This is the same family as Joint NZ Filly of the Year TARTAN HEIGHTS, Group 1 ARC Zabeel Classic winner CONCERT HALL and numerous other NZ stakes-winners.
Her Northern Dancer sireline is via Danzig - War Front - The Factor. Her dam's sire, Commands, provides the strength of Danehill but deep enough in her pedigree to suit many of the Australian-based stallions.
The Factor is still a young stallion, so his daughters have only produced 30 runners to date - 18 are winners already including a stakes-winner.
