Description

Intern is a beautiful big, scopey mare by sire of the moment Astern. She was a $140,000 Karaka sale purchase.

Astern is the sire of Caulfield Guineas winner Golden Mile, recent Group 1 SA Oaks winner Affaire A Suivre and top class sprinter Aft Cabin.

She is a very well related mare from a very active family that includes the likes of Group 1 winners Lucia Valentina and Danzdanzdance. Her half brother by Proisir sold to Maher/Eustace for $220,000 at this year's Karaka sale and was one of the best colts in the sale.

She last raced in April 2022. She showed promise as a staying mare however fractured a pelvis. She has since been back into Flemington and trialled but the owners have lost patience and want to move her on. She is a lovely dual purpose mare who could race on or head to the breeding barn.
