Description
Testa Sarah is a proven producing mare by successful broodmare sire Testa Rossa.
Testa Rossa is the broodmare sire of Group 1 winners GLOBAL GLAMOUR, VOW AND DECLARED, MARKY MARK, COOL AZA BEEL, PRINCE FAWAZ, etc.
Testa Sarah is a proven producer having produced this season’s Stakes winning juvenile SALTAIRE (by Star Turn).
The John O’Shea trained SALTAIRE showed great determination to win the $500,000 ATC Inglis Nursery RL in December.
In her last two starts, she was narrowly defeated by Libertad in the Gr.3 ATC Kindergarten Stakes on April 1st before a fast finishing 4th in the Listed Scone Woodlands Stakes after traveling three wide without cover.
Testa Sarah is also the dam of Avolonte, another daughter of Star Turn who has won six races including four city races, and over $135,000 in prizemoney. Avolonte is currently a four-year-old in training with Stuart Kendrick, has won her last two starts this racing season, and is due to trial again soon.
Both Saltaire and Avolonte have won as two-year-olds, making Testa Sarah the perfect mare for young stallions starting out or a more proven stallion.
Testa Sarah produces an attractive forward-looking foal, Saltaire being a $140,000 yearling.
Testa Sarah has a rising two-year-old colt by proven stallion All Too Hard, she was not served the following season and is currently in foal to exciting young stallion Exceedance.

Exceedance, is a Group 1 winner of the stallion-making VRC Coolmore Stud Stakes and had his first yearlings sell in 2023. At this year’s Magic Millions Yearling Sale, his first crop averaged $169,000 and sold to a high $370,000. At Melbourne Premier he averaged $130,000 and sold to $350,000. His two yearlings at the Inglis Sydney Easter Yearling sale sold for $300,000 and $380,000.
The first crop of Exceedance will enter the leading stables of Hawkes Racing (3), Gai Waterhouse/Adrian Bott (2), Chris Waller (2), Peter Moody (2), Lindsay Park (2), Tony McEvoy, Danny O’Brien (2), Griffiths/De Kock, Kris Lees, Clayton Douglass, Te Akau Racing, etc.
Exceedance stands in 2023 for $33,000 GST inc.
Testa Sarah has a pedigree that can be bred to almost any stallion. Her dam is by the Champion broodmare sire Encosta De Lago while her second dam is by the speed influence Zeditave.
Testa Sarah is a strong well-built type of mare with a powerful hind quarter. She is also correct with short cannons, has a good amount of bone, and stands approximately 15.3hh.
Testa Sarah has a good temperament and is easy to do anything with.
