CHEMAINUS is from the outstanding RASPBERRIES who was a Stakes Winner on no less than three occasions, Stakes Placed on no less than four occasions and 4th in a further three Stakes Races! RASPBERRIES won over $550,000 in prizemoney and has gone on to produce three winners including five-time winner and Stakes Placed MALAHAT.
CHEMAINUS is offered in foal to Vinery’s up and coming young sire EXCEEDANCE. This son of EXCEED AND EXCEL was an electrifying sprinter on the track. As a winner of the time honoured Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes (1200m), EXCEEDANCE joins an honour roll that features Zoustar, Merchant Navy, Sunlight, Brazen Beau, Sepoy, Star Witness, Alinghi and Northern Meteor. His natural ability was on display when he produced a last to first performance on debut as a 2yo. The following spring, he won the Group 3 San Domenico Stakes over 1100m first up and continued to battle out the finishes in top level sprints with the likes of Bivouac and Yes Yes Yes.
