HARDAZHELL is a nicely related, well put together 3yo gelding by HELLBENT out of the NORTHERN METEOR Mare Firm Option, half sister to the Group 2 Winner, Group 1 Placed Sire ROCK STURDY.
Hardazhell is very lightly raced having only had the 6 starts to date, and is having his first racing preparation.
He ran 2nd at WYONG over 2100ms in his 3rd start to the Garry Portelli Trained ITSAGOODDEEL, where he beat the John O'Shea Galloper AUNT ROBERTA who ran 3rd in the race.
In Hardazhell's next start at WYONG 27/04, he ran 5th, beaten only 3 lengths over 2100ms in another field dominated by Sydney Metro Trained Gallopers. The horse he beat previously, AUNT ROBERTA, came out and won the race and backed her form up by winning her next start at Wyong on the 11/05. Hardazhell crossed the line with the Chris Waller Trained MR PLUME, who was just beaten in his last start at the Sunshine Coast on the 28/05.
In Hardazhell's last race start 01/06, it was a very slowly run race and he was settled at the back of the field off a wide barrier, so it was hard to make ground. In his 2nd last run, he was given 3 weeks between runs and dropped back in distance. The runs were not as disappointing as they may seem on paper, but having said that, his Trainer feels he will take great benefit from a spell.
He could race on or be given a let up, but if he were given a good spell, we are confident he will come back a better, stronger, more mature Galloper.
Hardazhell was purchased at Magic Millions Yearling Sale for $100,000.00 and is is fully paid up for MAGIC MILLIONS RACE SERIES, he is also paid up for BOBS.
He is a young, lightly raced Galloper who has a bright future ahead of him.
He stands at approx 16.2hh and weighs approx 550kgs.
