Description

This imported, Irish-bred mare is a three-quarter blood-sister to Viztoria, Co-Champion Irish 2YO Filly and Champion Older Female Sprinter and a multiple Group winner. Namely is also a half-sister to the dam of Group One winner Fifty Stars (Australian Cup), a winner of 10 races and earner of over $2.7m.

Namely is the dam of Grizabella, a winner in Ireland last year while her dam Viz is a stakeswinning daughter of Darshaan. Namely is by the highly successful shuttle sire and classic winner Rock of Gibraltar, sire of 140 SWs – 16 of them Gr1 winners – and is now broodmare sire of 72 SWs, numbering 8 Gr1 winners among them including Kameko, Mikki Isle, Poetic Flare, Belvoir Bay & Line of Duty.

She hails from the quality international family descended from her 4th dam Lady Be Good, which features 31 Gr1 winners including Invader (ATC Sires’ Produce S.), Motivator (The Derby), Finest City (Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mares Sprint), Culture Vulture (French 1000 Guineas), Goodbye Halo (Kentucky Oaks) and successful sires Wavering Monarch, Polish Precedent & Zilzal.

Namely has strong upside with a 2yo daughter by Maurice and yearling colt by Dundeel Gr1 winner Castelvecchio to race, while her Sadler’s Wells half-sister has two fillies – a yearling and an unraced 2yo - by Sea The Stars.

This mare sells with a positive pregnancy test to Snitzel’s Gr2-winning son Showtime, a Gr2 winner at 1400m (MRC P.B. Lawrence Stakes) & 1600m (MVRC Bill Stutt Stakes) and twice G1-placed at weight-for-age: MRC Futurity (to Brave Smash) and ATC All Aged Stakes (to Trapeze Artist who broke the Randwick track record). Showtime is already a leading first season sire leaving 4 winners to date incl. SW Show Royale and Group-placed Tacito (1st Magic Millions SA 2YO Classic).
