Description

Reward is a young broodmare by the Gr. 1 winning son of Exceed and Excel, Reward for Effort.

The mare was bred by the recently passed, much loved racing figure Dean Lester and his good friend Joan Walker.

She was a winner on the track over 1200m, and is the half-sister to AMADEUS who was a stakes winner and earner of over $500k in prizemoney.

Reward is currently carrying her second pregnancy and she has a lovely, strong chestnut filly by Hanseatic on the ground which is her first foal (See Photo).

She is currently IN FOAL to Rosemont Stud’s exciting young sire STRASBOURG.

STRASBOURG is the highest rated son of sire sensation I Am Invincible to stand in Victoria since Brazen Beau retired here in 2015. STRASBOURG is a Group 2 winning, multiple stakes performer in his juvenile season and the most precocious son of ‘Vinnie’ to stand at stud anywhere in Australia.

Strasbourg had his first yearlings sell in 2023, with results up to $220,000 at the Magic Millions in January.

His first crop will hit the racetrack this upcoming spring.
