Description
A northern hemisphere bred daughter of Exceed and Excel, Mia Diva (GB) was a two-year-old winner over 1000m in the UK. She is a full sister to Group 3 winning filly QUEEN OF BERMUDA and is a three-quarter sister to multiple stakes-placed filly Crazyland.
Mia Diva is from a female line of winning two-year-olds who have produced winning two-year-olds. Mia Diva’s dam, Imperialistic Diva, was stakes-placed at 2 in the UK and produced three winners who all won at 2, including the Group 3 winner QUEEN OF BERMUDA. Imperialistic Diva also had a filly by Showcasing sell for 300,000gns at the 2021 Tattersalls October Yearling Sale.
Imperialistic Diva is half-sister to Group 2 winner, ELECTRELANE, who won the German One Thousand Guineas and herself has produced five winners from five foals. She produced Electronica who amassed over 86,000,000 Yen (Approximately $880,000AUD) in prizemoney in Japan and one of her yearlings (Deep Impact x Electrelane filly) sold for 90,000,000 Yen (Approximately $920,000AUD) in 2017 at the JRHA JRA Select Yearling and Foal Sale.
Mia Diva’s first foal, a colt by Night Of Thunder, was sold at the 2023 Magic Millions Gold Coast yearling sale to Gary Portelli Racing who reports that he is excited by what this colt is showing at trackwork so far. He is an attractive colt, straightforward with a big action. Her Frosted foal, born 20 August 2022, is a medium sized, strong bodied colt with a lot of presence and athleticism. He has good bone with correct conformation.
Exceed and Excel is widely regarded as one of the best broodmare sires with 83 stakes winners around the world including Group 1 winners including Alizee, Prompt Response, Ten Sovereigns, Astern, Bounding, Magic Attitude, Laws Of Indices, Crown Prosecutor, Tuvalu, Elite Street, Madame Pommery and Anthony Van Dyck.
Mia Diva stands at approximately 15.2. She is a beautiful mare with a lovely action that has been inherited by her first two foals. With three female half-siblings, Mia Diva has a highly progressive international pedigree. She is a young, well-related mare with plenty of upside for any commercial breeder.
Mia Diva is currently being rugged and has an Equilume mask. She has been a very straightforward breeder and will be ready for an early cover by a stallion of your choosing.
Mia Diva had colic surgery in September 2022 and recovered without issue.
