A special opportunity exists here to join an excellent ownership group and race a three-time-winning mare with more upside to come in the coming 2023/24 season. Shares are being sold on behalf of a defaulting owner.
A striking grey mare, FROST YOURSELF has developed into a lovely athlete. She is only now just maturing as she nears the end of her four-year-old season. She could be in for a very successful 2023/24 for her owners on the track, before a broodmare career in the future. She presents a great chance to own a proven race-filly and benefit from her value as a broodmare when she eventually retires.
By Darley’s Frosted, a US stallion by Tapit, Frost Yourself is from the family of Group 1 VRC Oaks winner BULLA BORGHESE, BOUND FOR EARTH (3rd G1 ATC Flight Stakes) and LIZARD ISLAND (2nd G1 Caulfield Guineas). In fact, her page is littered with black type winners.
Since she started training, Frost Yourself has always shown above average ability. She debuted in the Spring of her three-year-old season with a third placing and backed that up with a win at Bendigo. That effort was strong and she showed a lovely turn of foot, so it prompted Nigel to test her in stakes company at Flemington.
It was a little too soon for her in hindsight, facing the likes of Espiona, but she rested up for a return to racing in 2022. Unfortunately Frost Yourself couldn’t quite find her best form in 2022. She struggled on the synthetic surface at Ballarat one day, coughing and clearly not happy with the kick back. Nigel knew she was capable of a great deal better. With the patience of owners, Nigel gave her another spell and plenty of time to fill out and develop.
Frost Yourself returned to racing in 2023 and immediately scored back-to-back wins at Bendigo and Ararat. It may have been just a BM64, but the Ararat race was worth $75,000, so it attracted a decent field. Watch that victory here >> https://www.racing.com/form/2023-03-03/ararat/race/6

Frost Yourself has now returned to training at Ballarat (early July) and will be kept fresh and sharp for what we hope is a successful 5YO season ahead. She has no injury concerns, vices or embargoes. She is rated 65 (VIC) so remains eligible for Benchmark level racing and we hope she progresses further.
