Description
MAEWYN is a beautifully-bred mare who hails from one of the best families in the Stud Book. She is out of a full sister to HOLY ROMAN EMPEROR and MILANOVA, with her third dam being the Blue Hen FANFRELUCHE.
Daughters of DREAM AHEAD are proving to be very good producers and from 31 starters in Australia nearly 10% are Stakes performers. LIGHTSABER (Zoustar), winner of the Group Two VRC Sires’ Produce Stakes and runner-up in the Group One VRC Australian Guineas, is out of a DREAM AHEAD mare, as are this season’s juvenile Stakes performers DUBENENKO (Russian Revolution) and BUTCH CASSIDY (Written Tycoon).
In-foal to exciting first season sire ACROBAT, Maewyn is a mare that consistently leaves a very good foal on the ground. Her first foal, an unraced two-year-old by CARAVAGGIO in the stable of David Vandyke made $160,000 as a weanling. Her second foal, a yearling colt by MAGNA GRECIA, was purchased by Gerald Ryan and Sterling Alexiou for $160,000 at this year’s Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale. She has a quality colt by KING’S LEGACY that will be aimed at the Magic Millions sale in January and he can be inspected at Coolmore.
